Inside the Queen's favorite London hotel

by Ingrid Berg, Hotel Researcher
Those who feel like visiting London anytime soon might like to check out Her Majesty's favorite London hotel. The Queen had great taste, and this hotel feels like proof of it.

The Goring hotel has a long history of being a favorite among the British Royal family.

The hotel opened its doors in 1910 and has since been used as an overflow for the palace on multiple occasions, including the coronation of George VI and the Queen in 1937 and 1953. The Queen's Mother was a frequent visitor of the hotel and even had a favorite dish, Eggs Drumkilbo, which is still served today.

The hotel is owned by the Goring family and run by Jeremy Goring, great-grandson of the founder Otto Goring. The Goring is dubbed a "Baby Grand" and is known for its sumptuous yet understated décor. The most sought-after room at the hotel is The Royal Suite, a penthouse that comes with its red-liveried footman.

The hotel's Dining Room has a Michelin star and The Goring's famous Afternoon Tea on its lovely glass Veranda is a popular attraction.

Fun fact, during the summer Goring family brings their pony to the hotel for children to pet.

So if you feel like you would fancy enjoying the same royal premises as the Queen did, consider The Goring.
